Tawriq Abrahams - Chasing My Golf Dream

My name is Tawriq Abrahams, I am a student and a sportsman. My true passion is golf and my dream is to become a Professional Golfer one day. I am a student at Balderstone Sports Institute (The Golf School of Excellence), doing my Grade 10 Year.

It all began when I started walking, I would swing around golf clubs, although it was the plastic, toy ones, I fell in love with the sport then already. At the age of 3, I had my first set of “Real” Golf Clubs. Hitting balls at the driving range and as I got older I would play on the course. It started with playing 9 holes and then 18 holes and it was never too difficult for me. From 2010 to 2015 I attended golf practice 3 to 4 times a week at the Golf Development Academy in Westbury and was coached by a Professional Golfer, Paul Van Zyl. My development at the academy has truly contributed to where I am right now. I played for SA Kids Golf from 2012 – 2020, however, I still have the opportunity to play in international tournaments through SA Kids Golf. I currently play league for CMR Golf Club and I play for The Central Gauteng Golf Union (Junior Golf).

My dream in life is to become a Professional Golfer. My goal was to be handicapped as a “Scratch Golfer”, however, I have now surpassed this handicap and I am now an Index +0.6.

My short-term goals are to complete my High School at BSI and participate in as many tournaments as possible, in order to better my golfing abilities. My long-term goal is to become a Professional Golfer, to be successful and to be able to give back to children in need of assistance to reach their dreams.

I would like to Thank You in advance for the assistance in helping me reach My Dreams.
